In my diptych I construct an artificial closeness that is not present in reality. Matching these two statues creates a confrontation: In one a Native American stretches his arms downward in passivity and acceptance....

The illuminated lamp was supposed to represent "Reason," but it is unreasonable for the lamp to be illuminated during the day, making the so-called "Sleep" side the "reasonable" one....

“Emergency” was created in the wake of the Black Lives Matter movement. In an attempt to show solidarity, but also acknowledging my shortcomings as the depicted BLM sign is cut, reflecting the fading of the national attention

“WE” was made between late 2019 and early 2020 and represents the hope that polarities (represented in this case by West and East) can be bridged when they come together. Instead of "them" and "us" I thought what can show the way is "WE" as in "We the people" the first words of the American constitution....
